| Growing
up in the 60’s Craig was influenced by Pop Art, Rock n’
Roll, Skateboarding and Skiing. In the 70”s Craig’s interests
grew as he learned to play guitar and attend rock concerts, photographing
Peter Frampton, Thin Lizzy and Queen.
After graduating from college and art school in the
80’s Craig moved to New York and worked as a freelance Production
Artist for Rolling Stone Magazine. He spent most of his time taking
photos of artists and met Robert Mapplethorpe, Stephen Sprouse and
Debbie Harry who inspired him to explore other mediums.
A full time editorial job took him to Chicago in 1986
, his freelance business was focused on media accounts which included
Oprah Winfrey. Creating his photo archive Craig photographed Willie
Dixon, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Allen Ginsberg, The Kinks, David
Bowie, Cheap Trick, KISS, X, White Zombie, and Keith Haring. Craig
spent free time silk screening, painting, and assisting artists
and publishers. While attending openings and collecting art, gallery
owners became intrigued by Craig’s knowledge and passion leading
to many successful exhibitions.
